EASE reply to the European Commission’s Public Consultation and Call for Evidence Feedback on proposal for a Net-Zero Industry Act (NZIA) Implementing Act aiming at further specifying non-price criteria for renewable energy auctions.
March 2025 / Policy Papers - Responses to Public Consultations
ENTSO-E 10-Year Network Development Plan (TYNDP)
The ENTSO-E 10-Year Network Development Plan (TYNDP) is the pan-European electricity infrastructure development plan. It examines the future power system as a whole and explores how interconnections and energy storage can support the energy transition in a cost-effective and secure manner. EASE has responded to the consultation questions, rearranging the order of the questions according to its priorities.
EASE feedback calls for a more balanced consideration of energy storage technologies and a clearer breakdown of the economic impacts and costs of proposed scenarios. A more technology-neutral approach and improved data presentation (including capacity metrics) are recommended.

On 27 May 2025, over 200 participants attended the webinar on the "EASE Guidelines on Safety Best Practices for Battery Energy Storage Systems". The Guidelines are designed to support the safe deployment of outdoor, utility-scale lithium-ion (Li-ion) BESS across Europe.
Energy storage is a key enabler of the European Union’s decarbonisation and energy security objectives, yet current grid fee structures often act as barriers to its deployment. This position paper outlines critical challenges related to network tariffs and charges that create market distortions and discourage much-needed investments in flexibility.
EASE shares key overviews on the latest publication of the European Commission’s assessment of the Member States’ updated National Energy and Climate Plans.
