EMMES 7.0: How Will the Revised Market Design Affect the Energy Storage Market in Europe?

EASE together with LCP Delta organised a webinar on 28 March 2023 to present the latest European Market Monitor on Energy Storage and discuss how the revised market design will affect the energy storage market in Europe.

In March 2023, the European Union will announce four major initiatives that will directly impact the energy storage sector: the revision of the Electricity Market Design directive, the Staff Working Document on Energy Storage, the Net-Zero Industry Act, and the Critical Raw Materials Act. This could be a watershed moment for the energy storage sector. There is political commitment to promote energy storage uptake, and there is upcoming legislation to codify this commitment.

LCP-Delta and EASE are publishing the 7th annual European Market Monitor for Energy Storage (EMMES), which holds the most extensive database on European energy storage projects. The database of over 2,600 projects includes detailed data on current installations by customer segment (residential, commercial & industrial, and front-of-meter) across 24 European countries, with future projects and forecasts up to 2030.

Join us on 28 March 2023 for our launch webinar where we will discuss:

  • How has the overall European storage market developed over the last 12 months?
  • What are the trends in three major energy storage segments shaping the market and how will this change in 2023?
  • How are the new European Union legislative initiatives, and in particular the revision of the Electricity Market Design, going to impact the energy storage sector?

Webinar recording is available here.
